THE BUDGET RUM AND ESSENTIAL OILS TOUR
We understand that even though some of our guests may be on a tight budget, they still want to get the Full Dominica Experienece.
So we are pleased to offer a special budget rum and essential oils tour in the south of the island; you will get a real taste of Dominica without spending a fortune.
This excursion is done on local buses, giving you an extra opportunity to get to know a whole range of local characters and customs.

SOUTHERN DOMINICA GRAND BAY AND PETITE SAVANNE
- This tour sets off nice and early. You leave with your guide, on the local bus, heading for the southern town Grand Bay, better known locally as 'South City', and the nearby village of Petite Savanne
- Visit a traditional old rum factory, still using pure sugar cane in the old fashioned way

- Then visit The Coal Pot Factory, a small business established by a local entrepeneur with the help of a Peace Corps volunteer. They provide the locally made organic soaps which are complimentary in the rooms here at the lodge, and a variety of essential oils.
- Take a break for lunch.
- And finish the day visiting the community shared Bay Oil factory, a small place available for all to use. Local producers leave some oil to pay for the use of the factory.
- Then head back to the lodge with your guide on the bus.
