LAYOU HOT SPRINGS & MACOUCHERIE RUM FACTORY
Start the day with a dip in the hot springs in the Layou Valley.
A very short walk from the car, the springs are reached by walking a few minutes up The Layou River, Dominica's largest river.
Then, discover the secrets of Dominica's famous rum, see how it is made and sample its yummy taste !!
INDIAN RIVER
A lethargic boat ride up the Indian River is an incredible way to spend an afternoon.
The river runs from Portsmouth, in the West, deep into Morne Diablotin.
The river lies just below sea level and so the water is a mixture of fresh water and salt water.
Glide through the mangroves and wetlands in the paddle boat, with a very knowledgeable guide who can enlighten you on the incredible flora and fauna en route.
At the end of the ride there is an excellent restaurant, hidden deep away in the jungle, serving delicious local delicacies and extremely strong home made rum punch.

SALISBURY BEACH
Spend the rest of the afternoon on one of Dominica's best beaches.
Relax on the sand, bathe in the calm clear Caribbean waters, take a drink in the friendly beach bar, and if you feel the urge, the bay has some great snorkelling !
If you do not have your own snorkel, it will be provided for you.
For an additional US$45, you may also go scuba diving in the bay.
