Yoga as a Path to Wellness and Wholeness

"It's not just about Biofuels! How to harness your inner energy to move into a space of empowerment and living life with a big fat grin on your face".

see below for full day programme

Eco-philosopher Joanna Macy calls this time – “The Great Turning” the essential adventure of our time: the shift from the industrial growth society to a life-sustaining civilization. During this shift we can be too busy mourning our diminishing material resources to remember our inexhaustible inner wealth.

So transform your despair, stress and anxiety about what is happening in the world and your life by taking part in a day where you rediscover your peace, inner power and joy in reconnecting to yourself, others and the splendour of nature in Rosalie Forest.

Experiential Sessions include

  • Intro and welcomes: the practical role of yoga in maintaining your cool when everyone else is losing it
  • Eco Life-check – how healthy is your life? If it were a dish would you eat it?
  • How to compost the rubbish of the mind to create inner silence
  • Free at last. Letting out those scary emotions.
  • Outdoor Meditation; walking the labyrinth to let of the old and invite in the new.
  •
  • How to mine the heart’s energy sources to create intimacy and peace in our lives.
  • Nature Connection with Terri Henry – opening our hearts to nature’s connection and wisdom. Healing the rift between mankind and the natural world.
  • Final. Q&A Session. Taking it home and making it real.

Please wear loose clothing and bring a mat/towel/sarong to lie on. This style of yoga (Satyananda) is not about bending your knees behind your head – this is a more meditative style of yoga which suits a range of experience and flexibility.

A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. Labyrinths have been an important part of many cultures spiritually for thousands of years, and have also been used to create decorative art.

Walking through a labyrinth is usually intended to be a meditative and contemplative act, and many religions, including Christianity, integrate walking meditation in labyrinths into their spiritual practices.

It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.

We can have a direct experience. We can walk it. It is a metaphor for life's journey. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place and takes us out of our ego to "That Which Is Within."
