EcoFest Conference DOAM : Dominica Organic Agricultural Movement Presentation "Working towards a Healthy Environment" DOAM is a non-profit, non-governmental organization created to facilitate and promote a responsible organic industry in Dominica. Mission: To produce, promote and facilitate the production of organic agricultural commodities of optimum quality and quantity employing principles, methods and practices which protect and enhance the farm environment with particular regard to co-existing rather than dominating natural systems. To establish with all relevant national authorities and in the public mind the recognition that organic productions provides an excellent opportunity for a sustainable agricultural diversification. To promote the development of a sustainable organic industry whereby the use of local natural resources is made safe and cost effective. Goals include: Excellence in the dissemination of carefully analyzed information among members and throughout the various farming catchment zones on traditional, current and new developments in organic production, processing and marketing. Development and strengthening formal and informal networks for exchange/dissemination of information. Strengthening institutional support for three (3) primary levels of activity: production, processing, and marketing of Dominican Organic products.
