Local craftsman and entrepeneur
I am 21 years old, Franky Phillip, a young entrepreneur from the South Eastern village of Grand Fond, Dominica.I have been involved in the tourism sector for the past four years. I successfully completed the Castle Bruce Secondary School, and graduated in 2004. My home inspired many of my works, such as hand painted flowers and the local hummingbirds.
After I was introduced to the DYBT, and went through hard training in entrepreneurship development, I completed the training with good grades. I then graduated in September 2006, and was excited after sacrificing time for my business to attend the daily sessions.
My business plan won the Business Plan Innovation Award of the Commonwealth Youth Programme.
I was the feature speaker at the annual National Youth Rally in October 2008 as part of Dominica’s 30th independence celebrations where I received standing ovation for delivering an excellent speech.
In December 2008 I was awarded Young Entrepreneur of the year by the National Youth Council in its Annual Youth Awards ceremony.Or here to Contact us for more information.
