Our local beach at Rosalie can be excellent for surfing.
The beach itself is a long, wide, black sandy beach, set in one of the most beautiful bays in Dominica.
The Atlantic ocean crashes against the coast and often the waves are absolutely perfect for catching the surf. Sometimes, however, the sea can certainly get a bit rough, so surfing is not possible every single day. Either way, a day on the beach is most definitely an exciting experience.
A good time for experienced surfing is during the hurricane season. Obviously not during an actual hurricane, but when there is one passing a fair distance out from the Dominica coast, the surf can be extremely dramatic.
Here at the lodge we have two boards for rent, a small body board and a full size surf board.
