3 Rivers & Rosalie Forest is situated a mile or so inland from Rosalie,
on the east coast of Dominica.

Whether you arrive at one of the airports, or at the ferry terminal, there are always plenty of taxis. Roseau ferry terminal (45 minutes drive) Expect to pay around EC$190 / US$75, and Melville Hall airport (DOM) (1 hour and 15 minutes drive) EC$200 / US$80. If you arrive early enough, there are buses and hitchiking works well enough.

If you decide to rent a vehicle, or hire a taxi, you need a vehicle with high clearance for our access road, a low car will touch the road, and some taxis will leave you 1 km away on the main road; check before you ride.

IF YOU TAKE A TAXI, AND IF THEY LEAVE YOU AT THE MAIN ROAD, WE MAY NOT HAVE A VEHICLE TO COLLECT YOU !!!!!

From Melville Hall airport, follow the airport exit signs past the car park to the main exit barrier.

Turn right over the bridge as you leave the airport barrier and follow the road through and past the town of Marigot and stay on the main road until the main road crosses a bridge, bends right only, and leaves the coast.

You will pass immediately on your left a hotel called Silks, on a corner, GO STRAIGHT ON UP the mountain road, DO NOT turn left.

Stay on this long windy road for about 20 minutes to half an hour, until you reach a roundabout, at pond casse, with a bus shelter and a heritage sign in the middle.

Turn left towards Rosalie, Emerald pool and Castle Bruce.

From Roseau head north out of the city over the independence street bridge and follow the main road north, direction Canefield, Mahault, Salisbury and portsmouth.
Follow the road heading out of town, passing the cargo port and driving under a big cliff alongside the Ocean as far as Canefield, go past the Nissan showroom on the right, and past R&C tyre repairs on the left, then turn right at the National Bank of Dominica, then left at the end of the very short road and go over the mountains until you reach Pont Cassé. Turn right.

From Canefield airport, turn right onto the main highway, then left at the mini roundabout. At the top, turn left and follow the road up the mountain until you reach Pont Cassé roundabout. Turn right.

FINAL APPROACH DIRECTIONS

From Pond Cassé roundabout follow the road straight down, direction Emerald pool, Castle Bruce and Rosalie, for about 20 minutes, passing 2 bars on the left hand side, and driving straight past the turning on the left signposted to The Emerald pool and Kalinago Carib territory.

Do not turn left, go straight.

Carry on straight down the windy road for about 10 minutes, eventually you will go down a very steep bendy hill, with a broken road / dangerous bend warning sign, and at the bottom of the hill on the bend you will see a sign on the right saying ‘Rosalie Forest & 3 Rivers Eco Lodge ’, and a 2nd broken road warning sign with crash barriers at the side.If you reach the Ocean you’ve gone a few minutes too far; turn round and come back up the hill!!!

Turn tight down the dirt road.

Then, follow the dirt road for 5 minutes, GO SLOW ITS BUMPY. you will drive through a small ravine and then you will arrive at our neighbour’s big concrete farmhouse.
This is where you park your vehicle and begin your three rivers adventure.
A basic level if fitness is required.
BACKPACKS not suitcases are the best way to manage your luggage across the rivers. PLEASE BRING BACKPACKS NOT SUITCASES.

It is necessary to ZIP LINE across, or walk through two rivers, the first river is about 80 feet in width, and about knee to thigh deep, with a rope to hold on to, making it adventurous and not too difficult to cross. We can help with any bags using our cool pulley system.
Next a 5 to 10 minutes walk through the neighbouring farm.
After which you reach the second smaller river nearer to 3 rivers ecolodge, which can be crossed relatively easier by ZIP LINE or walking in just knee deep water.

After crossing the second bridge carry on straight up the road for a couple of minutes to our entrance way

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

If you want to use public bus, from Roseau, The buses for our lodge leave from Kennedy Avenue, either side of the junction with Independence street, near to Jays Bookstore, and take the bus which goes to Grand Fond, Riviere Cyrique, La Plaine or Delices.
Tell the driver you are coming to 3 rivers & Rosalie forest eco lodge and they will drop you at the main road from where you will walk in

From the Melville Hall airport, take any bus towards Roseau and change at the Pond Casse roundabout junction.
